wedding update - picked the colors & dj

Hi pretties!  It's a good day on the GreenerMe front.. Having the opportunity to create beautiful invitations for not only my lovely clients but also myself?  I could not ask for more!  The planning process has been so fun so far and I can't wait to share my next decisions with you..  The palette!

If you couldn't already tell, I am a big fan of green.  Green biz, green blog, green car, green house.. The list goes on.  When picking out my color scheme, I knew I had to include green!  After perusing Style Me Pretty and Green Wedding Shoes for hours, it finally clicked!  The colors I have chose are sage green, grey, white with a pop of purple.

I'd love to see the guys in grey suits with black dress shoes.  My ladies I'd love to see in sage green, but am not concerned with them being all matchy-matchy.  I figure some cute black pumps, wedges or flats would be easy to find, if they didn't already own a pair.  My dress will be white, but I will of course not show it off until after the big day!  I'd love to find some fabulous green pumps.  I'd like all the flowers to be white/green and the table settings will bring in the purple.  I love how classy yet unique this color scheme is!

My goal for the wedding is to have a nice, sweet and short ceremony followed by a delicious yet inexpensive meal and then the rest will just be a big fiesta!!  So I knew I had to find a DJ that would fit the mold and be able to play the eclectic blend of music I plan to have for the party (booty shakin, line dancin, slow dancin, electronic - a little something for everyone!!).  He's gotta know when to party, but when to be nice and sweet, too!  So I stumbled upon my next decision: The DJ!  So stoked about this.  I found him through a friend at work and could not be more excited!  I actually booked Mikey B (my T-Town fans might recognize him from 106.9 K-Hits) to be my DJ!!  He's funny, outgoing and cares about all the details of my wedding, the perfect combo for a DJ in my opinion!  He's actually making his step out into the sole-proprietor business world, too.  You all know I love to support local!  If you need a DJ give Mikey a shout via his Fan Page or Twitter, or shoot me an email and I'll give you his digis.

As of today this is where I'm at.  I'm having a great time so far with all the planning and I can't wait to take on more tasks!  Super stoked that I have my lovely blog with super sweet readers to share my crazy ideas with.  Thank YOU for tuning in!  Until next time... <3

Some dj tips for my friends hope you like. Being professional can put you way ahead of the game. Many people in the music business fail to be professional. Even though the business requires us to provide fun, some get lost and think that they must indulge. A few quick rules that should help you along... Keep your word, do what you say you're going to do. Show up on time, be ready for action. No matter what size of your attendance, play the best you can. You never know who is listening or what connection someone can provide to you. If you're distributing media kits, follow-up with a phone call or an e-mail. This also applies to all press-related info, meeting and reviews. If you give respect you'll get respect. No matter how they act, you must remain professional. Thanks
